IWA is supporting awareness of #WorldWetlandsDay today. Currently 2.2 billion people do not have access to safe drinking water. By 2050, we will require 55% more water due to population growth, and wetlands are key to providing freshwater.  We must do more to improve water management, reduce pollution, and enhance wetlands restoration efforts. To mark this important day, IWA has created an infographic which highlights the role regulators can play in adopting nature-based solutions. Nature-based solutions, including wetlands, can help address many of the water management challenges we face around the world but require the partnership of many actors to be successful.

IWA is working with The Nature Conservancy (TNC) to promote nature-based solutions throughout the water sector—driving solutions for people and nature.
